Yagba East LGA Chair unveils transformative vision for council

The newly elected Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Area (LGA), Honourable Dare Monday, has outlined his bold transformative vision tailored at driving economic growth and improving living standards across the council.

In an interview with The Graphic newspaper, Hon. Dare Monday emphasised that his focus would be on agriculture, citing plans to cultivate 500 meters of land for cassava production and expand the existing garri processing plant.

“We are planning to cultivate 500 hundred meters of land to preserve agricultural programs, so that we can plant cassava,”

We have a medium factory of garri processing plant in Yagba East. I want to expand the factory so that we can process a large quantity of garri in Yagba East LGA” he further disclosed.

To achieve his vision, Hon. Monday plans to build upon his accomplishments as caretaker chairman, introducing new policies and directions.

He highlighted his experience in the business sector, noting that he has secured three licenses from the federal government to establish a regional processing plant in Yagba East LGA.

The chairman also emphasized the importance of active citizen participation and inclusive decision-making. He aims to engage unemployed youth through the factory, which is expected to employ at least 2,000 people, thereby reducing crime rates and increasing economic activity in the region.

Hon Monday who described security as the primary objective of his administration, stated that “The major problem facing Yagba East LGA now is security. If Yagba East LGA is not well secured, foreigners who want to invest won’t invest because of lack of security.”

To address other pressing challenges, Hon. Monday said he was working to resolve electricity and banking issues in the region. And that has spoken with the regional manager of First Bank in Isanlu, and expects the bank to reopen soon.

Hon. Monday’s vision for Yagba East LGA also includes fostering cooperation with state and federal authorities, as well as private sector stakeholders. He plans to establish partnerships with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to secure resources and support for the region.

In a message to his constituents, Hon. Monday assured them of his commitment to making a positive difference in Yagba East LGA. Stating that “I am not there to embezzle their money,I am there to build Yagba East LGA into what we can all be proud of, and to make a name for my children. I strongly believe that during my administration, Yagba East LGA will witness great change and will be great by the special grace of God.”

As Hon. Dare Monday embarks on his transformative journey, the people of Yagba East LGA eagerly anticipate the positive impact of his vision. With his comprehensive plans and commitment to progress, a brighter future beckons for Yagba East LGA.
