The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has received new power transformers at two substations in Kaduna State, marking a significant step towards improving power supply in the North-West region.

The Jaja Transmission Substation in Kudan Local Government Area received two 150MVA 330/132/33kV power transformers, while the Jaji Substation in Igabi Local Government Area, received two 66MVA 132/33kV power transformers.
These projects, are funded by the African Development Bank (AFDB), aimed at enhancing power supply reliability and expand transmission capacity.
Once completed, the Jaja substation will link with the 330kV Kano Transmission Line, reinforcing transmission capacity and reducing power outages. The new substations will improve voltage stability and ensure a reliable bulk electricity supply to distribution load centers, benefiting customers in Kano State and neighboring areas.
TCN’s efforts aim to strengthen the transmission grid, supporting economic growth and development in the region. The projects are part of TCN’s ongoing initiatives to improve power supply and reliability across Nigeria.
