Takete Ide community to celebrate day, November 2

The Takete Ide Community in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State, has fixed November 2, 2024 for the celebration of the Takete Ide Day.

Takete Ide Day is an annual cultural celebration of the sons and daughters of the community.

Speaking to newsmen on the 2024 Takete Ide Day, the National President of the Takete Ide Progressive Union, Prince (Bldr) Richard Fiki, said the 2024 edition which hold at the UBE School Field in Takete Ide beginning from 10am, will be “unprecedented”.

“We have lined up a lot of cultural percussions to celebrate our history and culture this year and it will be phenomenal. We are inviting the world to come and celebrate our culture and history with us.

“But beyond that, we are also Launching a 100 Million Naira Development Fund for the completion of the ultra-modern Community Hall and some other community projects”, he said.

Also, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, who is the Chairman of the Planning Committee said modalities have been put in place for a hitch free celebration.

He said, “The 2024 Takete Ide Day celebration is expected to be a platform to market our culture and history to the world and further unite the sons and daughters of the great community.

“Takete Ide is ready to host our invited guests and also open a new chapter in the development of the community”.

His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo is the Distinguished Special Guest of Honour and the event will be chaired by business mogul and Managing Director of Mangal Cement Company, Engr. Fahad Mangal, while Engr. Mrs Helen Omoniwa will be the Lady Chairperson.

The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, is expected to lead the Guests of Honour to the event while the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, is the Chief Launcher.

Other Launchers are the Senators Representing Kogi West and Kogi East respectively, Sen. Sunday Karimi and Sen. Isah Jibrin Echocho as well as the Member Representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide.

Others are the MD/CEO of First Trust Mortgage Bank, Mr. Korede Adedayo; Hon. Minister for Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu; Dr Mrs Yemi Kolapo, Chief Dare Olatunde and Chief Mrs Ibikemi Tolorunleke.

The Royal Father of the day is His Royal Highness Oba Philip Ebilakun, the Olude of Takete Ide Amuro.
