The Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Jibrin Isah-Echocho, has assured the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), of his support to the fight to curb the menace of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in the country .

He made the pledge during the commissioning of Zonal Command of NDLEA in Anyigba, Kogi State.

The initiative is a testament to the power of effective leadership and the impact that dedicated public servants can have on their communities as the lawmaker was instrumental in enhancing legislation that attracted the project to the state.

When fully operational, the NDLEA Zonal Command in Anyigba is expected to serve as a hub for drug control activities in Kogi East and its surrounding areas.

The agency is expected to prevent drug trafficking, investigate and prosecute drug-related offenses, and provide support for individuals struggling with addiction.
