Governor Ademola Adeleke, of the Accord Party, has been re-elected for a second term in office as Governor of Osun State.

Announcing this in Osogbo the state capital, the Independent National Electoral Commission, through the Returning officer declared him winner on Saturday night.

The Returning Officer for the 2026 Osun Governorship Election, Prof. Joshua, said Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamji of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 444,815 votes. This margin of 66,252 votes was announced at the state collation center in Osogbo after results from all 30 local government areas were tallied.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the declaration, Adeleke thanked the people of Osun for renewing his mandate. He said the victory was a reflection of the trust the electorate placed in his first-term administration. The governor also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu, had called to congratulate him on the outcome of the poll.

Adeleke struck a conciliatory tone, saying he was ready to work with all candidates who contested against him. “There is no winner, no vanquished in this election,” he said.

“Osun belongs to all of us, and I will run an inclusive government that carries everyone along”, he said.

He added that he was expecting a congratulatory call from his close rival, the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamji. According to him, such a gesture would further strengthen democracy and unity in the state.

The governor outlined his priorities for the next four years, saying the focus would shift from a civil service-driven economy to industrial growth.

“The next phase of our development is to take Osun from a civil servant state to an industrialized state. We will attract investments, support small businesses, and create jobs for our youths”, Adeleke said.

Adeleke concluded by praising God for the victory and dedicating the win to the people of Osun. Urging residents to remain peaceful as the state moves into the next phase of governance.
