Olamaboro holds “One Million Youth March” in support of Tinubu, Ododo

Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, was agog on Saturday, as crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, from within and outside the council, gathered in Okpo, for a One Million Youth March in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A statement issued by the Information Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, James Sani, revealed that the massive turnout brought the commercial town of Okpo to a standstill, as streets were filled with visitors, APC supporters and various groups who converged on the community to participate in the solidarity rally.

The event also featured colourful cultural displays, traditional dances as well as boom in commercial activities, with residents and visitors engaging in buying and selling across the town.

The gathering was further enlivened by performances from entertainers, including Aminu the comedian, Zulezu as well as several local musicians who entertained the crowd.

Speaking at the event, the convener and Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Anyebe, said the one million youth march was organised to demonstrate the people’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Anyebe said the people of Olamaboro Local Government, had collectively resolved to work together with one voice and vote massively for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He said the people of the local government were satisfied with what he described as the excellent performance of the Tinubu and Ododo administrations, adding that the APC had established a strong presence in the local government.

The commissioner reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the growth and success of the present administrations, as well as the APC at both the local government and state levels.

He expressed appreciation to everyone who attended the event, particularly the Kogi State Government delegation, APC supporters, various groups and religious bodies for their contributions towards the success of the rally.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mrs. Comfort Egwuaba, commended the organisers for their initiative, describing the mobilisation as a welcome development that had brought people together in unity and solidarity.

In a message delivered at the event, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, assured the people of Igala Kingdom of his administration’s commitment to the progress and development of the area.

The governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, described the Igala people as a people of integrity and vision.

He said his administration would continue to stand with the people of the kingdom in promoting unity, peace and stability across Kogi State.

The governor also called on the people to vote massively for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections, stressing that supporting the APC would translate into continued growth and development for Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

Governor Ododo commended the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Anyebe, for his commitment and passion towards strengthening the APC in Olamaboro Local Government and across the state.

He further assured the people of Olamaboro Local Government Area of his administration’s readiness to continue partnering with them in pursuit of the success of his administration and the overall development of the state.
