The ancient palace of His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alh. Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, recently played host to members of the Kwararafa People’s Assembly.

This is part of the group’s ongoing mission to reconnect and unify tribes with shared historical roots in the Kwararafa Kingdom—one of the most powerful and enduring kingdoms in pre-colonial Nigerian history.

Leading the delegation, Hon. Leo Saje, President of the Assembly, who began by offering heartfelt prayers and accolades to the Ohinoyi, highlighted the historical significance of the Kwararafa Kingdom and enumerated the various ethnic groups believed to have originated from it, including the Jukun, Nupe, Idoma, Ebira, Igala, Ngas, among others—now spread across 28 states in Nigeria.

Hon. Saje disclosed that the Assembly had commenced a nationwide journey of cultural reconnection from the palace of the Aku Uka, followed by a visit to the Attah Igala, and were now at the Ohinoyi’s palace to further push for the creation of the Kwararafa Council and Kwararafa Traditional Rulers’ Council. These councils aim to promote unity, shared values, and cultural renaissance among the descendants of the Kwararafa heritage.

He further noted that the visit was also symbolic—a gesture of seeking forgiveness for any ancestral divisions or wrongdoings that might have led to the disintegration of the once-unbreakable Kwararafa Kingdom.

In his response, His Royal Majesty Ohinoyi of Egbira, expressed warm appreciation for the visit and the initiative.

He extended royal blessings to the visionaries behind the Kwararafa revival movement, affirming that the Ebira people have never severed their historical and cultural connection with the ancient Kingdom.

He declared full support for the movement, assuring the Assembly of his commitment and prayers toward the actualization of the vision.

The Ohinoyi also advised the delegation to uphold truth as the foundation for unity, emphasizing that only truth and sincerity can sustain any collective effort.

He offered prayers for divine strength, wisdom, and journey mercies for all delegates involved in this noble mission.
