Ododo lauds peaceful conduct of LG elections

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has praised the Local Government Elections held across the state for being peaceful and orderly.

Governor Ododo arrived his polling unit 001, RCC School in Upogoro III Ward, Upogoro/Odenku, Okene Local Government Area in the morning were he performed his civic responsibility on Saturday.

The polling unit recorded a significant turnout of voters with many converging on the center as early as 8:00 am to wait for officials of Kogi State Electoral Commission,(KOSIEC).

Security personnel were also seen as early as 8:00am before the actual voting exercise commenced around 9.00 am.

Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Governor Ododo expressed satisfaction with the smooth progress of the electoral process.

He praised the orderly and calm atmosphere recorded during the Local Government elections, while commending all stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and orderly exercise.

The governor praised the electorate for turning out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibilities emphasizing his administration’s commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and credible election.

He then used the forum to express his gratitude to President Ahmed Tinubu for establishing a framework for credible elections in Nigeria and for creating an enabling environment for youths to participate in governance.

According to Abdulsalam Usman, the KOSIEC Returning Officer for Upogoro III/Odenku Ward, the election commenced at 9:00 AM after the voter accreditation at 8:00 AM. He noted that the voting process was peaceful with no signs of voter apathy.

Usman further disclosed that electoral observers arrived early, just as security agencies were present from 8:00 AM to ensure a peaceful polls.
