Ododo charges corps members on discipline

Kogi State Government, has charged the 2,926 corps members, deployed to the state, to demonstrate high level of discipline during and after their service year.

State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, gave the charge in a message delivered at the Swearing-in Ceremony of 2,926 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members, deployed to the state at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Asaya, Kabba, Kogi State.

According to a statement issued by the Information Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, James Sani, Governor Ododo who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Anyebe, also urged the Corps Members to live positively and make meaningful contributions throughout their service year and beyond.

“My administration will work tirelessly to create job opportunities for unemployed youths in the state. Your welfare remains paramount to this government at all times,” Governor Ododo said.

He noted that since the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps in 1973, the scheme has built lasting legacies in national development.

The Governor further urged the Corps Members to participate actively in all camp activities and serve the nation with sincerity, loyalty, integrity, and accountability.

He also called on them to support his administration in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State.

Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the NYSC scheme, adding that the welfare of Corps Members deployed to Kogi State will remain a top priority.

He congratulated them on the successful completion of their tertiary education, stressing that their one-year service would be rewarding for both them and society.

The Governor equally commended the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Chris-Moneke Chika Tochi, and other stakeholders for their commitment to instilling discipline in Corps Members deployed to the state.

In her remarks, the Kogi State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Chris-Moneke Tochi, warned Corps Members to obey all camp rules and regulations. She also appealed to the Kogi State Government for sustained support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the camp.
