•Fanwo pledges support for event

Ahead of the 2024 Press Week, Kogi state chapter of the Nigerian Union Journalists (NUJ), is set to honour Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his contribution to the organisation.
The event scheduled for Lokoja, will feature the investiture of Governor Ododo as the Grand Patron of the union among other exciting events.
Meanwhile, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, has pledged his support for the NUJ as it prepares for its week.
He made the pledge on Tuesday while playing host to members of the organizing committee for the event in his office.
Fanwo eulogized the union for recognizing the administration’s efforts in promoting a conducive environment for it to practice and for fostering synergy among various stakeholders.
He assured of necessary support towards the success of the forthcoming Press Week of the State Council of NUJ and investiture of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as Grand Patron of the Union.
While emphasizing the importance of the union in shaping the society, he assured that efforts will be intensified to ensure the success of the event as part of his contribution to his constituency.
The Commissioner then commended the State Council of NUJ for selecting people of proven integrity to serve in the committee and promised some level of support by the ministry.
Earlier, the Chairman of Committee, Alhaji Momohjimoh Adeiza said the visit was to formally intimate the commissioner on the planned event.
Alhaji Momohjimoh, who was the immediate past chairman of the Council, solicited the support of the Ministry and the government, especially in the quest to realize successful investiture of the Governor.
