The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has increased security measures to prevent potential unrest in anticipation of a nationwide protest.

In a statement issued by ASC Ayoola Michael Shola, Commandant Umar Mohammed, warned against using the protest for criminal activities. He assured that the command is on high alert and has implemented stringent measures to maintain law and order before, during, and after the protest.

Dr. Mohammed emphasized that the NSCDC would not tolerate any attempts to cause chaos or damage vital national assets and infrastructure. He outlined that comprehensive security deployments would be made across the state to protect lives and property.

While acknowledging the citizens’ right to protest, Dr. Mohammed, urged the youth and other participants to express their grievances peacefully and legally, ensuring public safety and national security are not compromised.

He reassured law-abiding residents of Kwara to continue their daily activities without fear, as rigorous measures are in place to address any threats that may arise.
