From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

A four-bedroom apartment on Ifesowapo Street, Ita-Elepa, Ilorin, was completely destroyed by a fire outbreak late Sunday night, February 16, 2025, following a suspected power surge.

The Kwara State Fire Service confirmed receiving a distress call at about 8:52 p.m., but by the time firefighters arrived, the flames had already consumed the building, leaving little to be salvaged.

This was disclosed in a statement by the agency’s Head of Media and Publicity, Hassan Adekunle.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, emphasised the importance of fire safety measures.
