The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, has extended warm greetings to its Muslim members on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, urging them to uphold the values of love, peace, and unity.
In a statement signed by the Chapel’s Chairman, Abdulhakeem Garba, and Secretary, Kayode Abdulazeez, the leadership emphasised the importance of sustaining the teachings of Ramadan beyond the fasting period.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, we must continue to embody the virtues of forgiveness, love, and unity that Ramadan has instilled in us,” the statement read.
The union leaders also called on members to strengthen the bond of friendship and mutual respect, noting that unity among journalists is essential for the progress of the chapel and the profession at large.
“Let us put aside our differences and work together in harmony, as this will not only strengthen our chapel but also foster peaceful coexistence among us,” the statement added.
The Chapel wished all Muslim members a joyous celebration, saying, “Barka Da Sallah!”
