Kwara Fire Service contains Otte highway inferno

The Kwara State Fire Service has brought under control a road inferno that engulfed two vehicles along the Otte, Ogbomosho Bode Saadu Expressway in Kwara State.

The Graphic, gathered that personnel of Kwara Fire Service responded promptly to the fire outbreak which resulted when a a vehicle rammed into a stationary truck.

The incident occurred at around 08:12 hours causing gridlock along the route.

According to a statement by Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, the fire erupted after a bus carrying cosmetic products collided with a truck loaded with perfumes and honey, which had overturned earlier.

Upon arrival, the firefighters swiftly took control of the situation and successfully extinguished the blaze, preventing further damage.

The statement noted that the truck had tipped over on Monday, and the subsequent collision with the bus led to the fire outbreak.

The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service has advised all road users to exercise caution and drive safely to prevent similar incidents in the future.
