KOSIEC distributes electoral materials, gives time for commencement of election

Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission ( KOSIEC), today commenced the distribution of electoral materials to electoral officers in the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state.

Chairman of the commission, Mamman Nda Eri, who briefed Journalists at the commission’s headquarters in Lokoja on the distribution pattern said the Electoral Officers are the representatives of the commission who will help in the distribution of electoral materials and in the conduct of the election tomorrow.

Eri noted that both sensitive and insensitive election materials will be conveyed to all the Local Government headquarters before they are transported to the wards and polling units for the conduct of the election.

The Commission Chairman, said electoral booths will be opened by 800am but voting will commence by 900am and terminate by 300pm. He added that voters who are on the queue by 300pm will all be accommodated to vote candidates of their choice.

Eri called on politicians to play the game by the rule and avoid acts capable of disrupting the exercise. He maintained that the electoral body will do its best to conduct a free and fair council polls in the state.
