The Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his commitment to education.
In a statement released to newsmen in Lokoja, the association Chairperson, Comrade Stella Edoka, commended the Governor’s decision to cover WAEC fees for students in the state.
According to the statement, the initiative has provided significant relief and hope to numerous families.
The statement highlighted the administration’s efforts to prioritize education and provide financial support to students.
While it recognise the vital role of education in empowering individuals, particularly young women, to realize their full potential,” the statement emphasised that the gesture not only alleviates the financial burden on parents but also encourages students to concentrate on their studies, striving for excellence without the worry of exam-related costs.
“Your actions reflect a clear understanding of the importance of investing in human capital and the future of our nation.”
The Chairperson urged the Governor to continue implementing policies that enhance access to quality education and address the challenges faced by students, teachers, and the education sector as a whole.
Adding that his dedication to creating positive change is inspiring. We look forward to witnessing the long-term impact of your initiatives,” the association stated.
