The Kogi State Government,  has made a major breakthrough in its fight against insecurity with the arrest of two notorious bandits of Niger State origin, with gunshot wounds, in a remote forest in the Aherin community, Kabba Bunu Local Government Area.

According to Commander Jerry Omodara, Special Adviser on Security to Kogi State Governor who disclosed recently, the breakthrough was made possible by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s decisive stand against insecurity and zero-tolerance policy towards criminals.

“We have been able to saturate everywhere so that they don’t have a hiding place in our state,” it is difficult to see them inside the town again, we are arresting fake Doctors and Doctors that are treating them.” Omadara said.

The security adviser revealed that the bandits were receiving treatment in a remote settlement, and upon receiving intelligence, security personnel, hunters and Vigilantes were deployed to the area and in a swift reaction, before 4:30 am, “I deployed some security personnel and our hunters and the vigilantes there to ensure that the information didn’t spread and they didn’t escape.”

According to him, the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed that the house used for treating the bandits should be demolished just as he pointed out that the state government would no longer entertain or spare anyone perpetrating crime in Kogi State.

The Graphics Newspaper reports that this recent breakthrough is a plus to Governor Ododo’s commitment to flush out criminals out of the state and so far, the efforts has been yielding results with the several arrest made in the recent times

It would be recalled that recently in Isanlu-Esa Yagba West Local Government Area, Governor Ododo vowed to crush bandits in Kogi, and the recent arrests are clear indication of his administration’s commitment to make the state safe for its residents.

The Kogi State Government’s efforts have received commendations from various quarters, with the PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Emmanuel Eseyin, praising Governor Ododo’s bold steps in fighting insecurity, particularly in Okun Land
