Kogi Education Commissioner Reiterates Gov. Ododo’s Resolve to Make Education bedrock of sustainable development

Pays Surprise Visits to Schools in Kogi Central.

The Kogi State Government has assured that the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo is resolved to make education the bedrock of sustainable development.

The Kogi State Commissioner For Education, Hon. Wemi Jones made the disclosure when he paid a surprise visit to schools in Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The Commissioner was in hand in all the schools visited as early as 7:00am, expressed optimism that under the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, the State will maintain it lead in quality education through teaching and learning, promised that the administration will build on infrastructure development in schools.

The Commissioner maintained that having done well in the last administration of former Gov Yahaya Bello in the area of education, said the present administration is set to build on the foundation.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the teachers and students for their punctuality, said the present administration is set to ensure discipline in schools.

The Commissioner conducted the schools inspection at Okene Secondary School to improve educational standards, said the present administration will not compromise on quality education in ensuring that the State takes it rightful place in the country.

He explained that Kogi State, which use to be the bedrock of education in the old Kabba province and in Northern Nigeria, urged the principals and the teachers in the schools visited to be on their toes as the Ministry will henceforth conduct regular monitoring, supervision and inspection.

The Commissioner assured that the State Government is resolved to enhance the performances of Teaching and learning in schools, said the present administration is committed to providing the necessary tools for the teachers to operate at optimum.

The Commissioner’s visits to the schools which began some weeks ago is in a bid to ensure educational excellence and quality in Kogi State making the Commissioner to conduct an unannounced inspection and monitoring visit to Okene Secondary Schools today.

Hon. Wemi Jones was pleased to see that the schools visited put up a show of good conduct during his visit, noted that the standards and educational practices in place at the schools are of high quality, capable of moulding great minds.

Impressed by what he saw, the Commissioner commended the schools for maintaining such high standards and emphasized the importance to strive for educational excellence.

He also had insightful interactions with the students, discussing their aspirations and offering words of encouragement.

Hon. Wemi Jones expressed his commitment to supporting schools in the state in achieving their educational goals and ensuring that they are in compliance with government policies.

He emphasized the need for continued improvement, urged all schools to remain dedicated to providing quality education for their students.

The surprise visit to Okene Secondary School highlighted the Commissioner’s dedication to improving education in Kogi State and his desire to see schools flourish and students succeed.
