Kogi Assembly comfirms commissioners for two commissions

The Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the Chairman and Commissioners nominated by the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to the State Fiscal Responsibility Commission and State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

During the screening exercise held at the State Assembly complex, Lokoja, the nominees were giving the privilege to take a bow based on their wealth of experience and recommendation.

The nominees for appointment as Chairman and Commissioners, Kogi State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), include: Mr Jimoh Muhammed Adinoyi, (Chairman/ Central), Engr Ayowande Femi(Ccommissioner /West) Mr Yahaya Drisu ,(Commissioner/East), Muhammed Musa, (Commissioner/ Central) and Ayodeji Emmanuel, (Commissioner/Secretary, West) were all screened.

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aliyu Yusuf, attributed the speedy screening of the nominees to the high regard for of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s recommendations and confidence in the candidates ability to discharge their duties and responsibilities.

He urged the nominees to prioritise commitment to their assignments and accord attention to their duties as they discharge their responsibilities.

Rt. Hon Yusuf further maintained that the house was still mourning the passing of one of the member that represented Dekina Okura state constituency, RT.Hon Paul Enema.

In a similar manner, Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of commissioner nominee for the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The screening was held during the plenary sitting at the State Assembly complex, Lokoja

The nominees include :Engreener Abdussalam Yusuf,(Commissioner Market Competition and Rates (MCR), Professor Abdukarim Ibrahim, (Commissioner Legal), Meliga Enema Micheal,(Commissioner Engineering,Performance and Monitoring (EPM) and Alhaji Mohammed Mabo Kassim is to serve as the commission’s secretary.

The Speaker, RT. Hon Aliyu Yusuf, used the forum to urge the nominees to put in more efforts in promoting programmes and policies tailored at enhancing activities at the State Electricity Regulatory Commission as well as the development and improvement of electricity to the state.
