Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended party stakeholders for the successful congresses in the 239 political wards of the state, describing the exercise as peaceful and hitch free.

The commendation was given by the Kogi State Chairman of APC, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi, during a press conference in Lokoja.

Alhaji Bello Abdullahi affirmed that the peaceful conduct and outcome of the just concluded Ward and Local Government Congresses in the state were strong signals to their political opponents that the APC remains formidable and well-positioned for future contests.

According to him, the APC with its well structured foundation, remains the party to beat, just as he described the Ward and Local Government Area Congresses as a resounding success, marked by peace, unity and seamless coordination across the state.

Speaking further the Chairman said the congresses were conducted successfully in all the 239 wards and 21 local government areas without rancour or disruption.

According to him, the peaceful outcome of the exercise underscores the party’s political sophistication, strong internal cohesion and commitment to democratic principles.

“The smooth and orderly conduct of the congresses is a reflection of our strong foundation and the unwavering dedication of our members to our shared values and goals,” he said.

Hon. Bello noted that the exercise has further strengthened the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, sending what he described as a “strong message” to political opponents that the APC remains formidable and well-positioned for future contests.

He expressed profound appreciation to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his leadership and inclusive approach throughout the process.

The chairman acknowledged the governor’s engagement with stakeholders and commitment to fairness for creating a level playing ground that ensured broad acceptance of the outcomes.

He also commended the National Working Committee of the APC for organizing what he termed one of the most rancour-free congresses in the party’s history. The representatives of the national body, he said, conducted the exercise with integrity, transparency and a high sense of responsibility.

The chairman further lauded security agencies for their professionalism and neutrality, noting that their presence and vigilance contributed significantly to the peaceful conduct of the congresses across the state.

Hon. Bello thanked party leaders, stakeholders and members for their enthusiasm, discipline and loyalty, describing their participation as the driving force behind the party’s success.

He concluded by stating that the successful congresses has reaffirmed the APC’s structure, strength and unity of purpose, assuring members that the party will build on the momentum to consolidate its gains and position itself for greater achievements in Kogi State and beyond.
