Commissioner for Information and Communication, Honourable Kingsley Fanwo, has given kudos to the management of The Graphic Newspaper, for providing solar-powered inverters for uninterrupted power supply to the production department.
Hon Fanwo who disclosed this after a facility inspection tour of The Graphic Newspaper in Lokoja, noted that the refurbished Conference Hall, procurement of computers for the production department and installation of solar-powered inverters would go a long way in enhancing productivity.
He applauded the Managing Director, Mr Yusuf Jimoh Itopa, for his approach to enhancing effective service delivery by prioritising staff welfare; describing the initiative as major step by the MD in assisting the present administration in achieving some of its goals in the information sector.
Hon Fanwo expressed confidence in the MD’s strategic vision and ability to steer The Graphic towards even greater achievements while assuring the management that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo would be updated on the advancements recorded so far.
The commissioner also used the forum to emphasise the need for unity, support, and commitment from all stakeholders towards the sustained growth and development of the paper.
In his remarks, The Graphic MD, Mr.Itopa highlighted the significance of the newly installed solar powered inverters for the production department as well as replacement of faulty computers in repositioning the corporation for wider outreach.
He appealed to the state government through the commissioner to support the organization with official vehicles to facilitate paper circulation and expansion of it’s readership within and outside the state.
On his part, the Executive Editor, Mr James Oyewole appreciated the commissioner for his support to the organization while assuring him that The Graphic was in safe and capable hands under the leadership of Mr Itopa.
He affirmed the commitment of management of the corporation to give full support and cooperation to the MD in order for him to deliver on his plans.
