Governor Ododo Visits Works Minister, Solicits For Infrastructural Reforms In Kogi

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Oladele John Nihi, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to the minister for selecting Kogi State as the destination for his working visit upon assuming office.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo on Tuesday met with the Minister for Works, Senator David Umahi at the Ministry’s headquarters to chart a path towards infrastructural reforms in Kogi State.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Oladele John Nihi, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to the minister for selecting Kogi State as the destination for his working visit upon assuming office.

The Governor commended President Tinubu for his discerning choice in appointing Umahi as the Minister of Works.

Reaffirming his dedication to fulfilling the mandate and trust bestowed on him by the people of Kogi State, Governor Ododo solicited the support of the Ministry towards enhancing the development of road infrastructure in Kogi State.

In his response, Senator Umahi commended Governor Ododo’s exemplary leadership, citing his capacity and humility as hallmarks of a true statesman.

He pledged the federal government’s unwavering support for Kogi State’s infrastructural development and praised the governor’s appointment of dynamic young leaders to drive the affairs of ministry of works and other key sectors in the state.

Umahi announced that President Tinubu has approved the commencement of a major 60km road project from Abuja to Lokoja, slated to begin in March. He assured of additional sustainable infrastructural projects in Kogi State, under the Renewed Hope Administration.

Stressing the significance of inclusive governance and sustainable development, Umahi called for collaboration among state governors to help drive the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President.

Umahi commended Governor Ododo for starting in such a good stead and commitment to the state’s development, emphasizing that maintaining such momentum would pave way for the socioeconomic economic development of the state.

The meeting emphasize the deepening of partnership between Kogi State and the federal Ministry of Works with the aim of promoting significant progress and prosperity for the people of Kogi State.
