Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Odoodo, has described Prince Olatunji Olusoji as a proven leader whose life is rooted in service, integrity and exceptional commitment to humanity.
Governor Ododo made the remark when he formally received the former People Democratic Party ( PDP) stalwart and Group Chairman/ Chief Exexutive Officer of Grosvenor Group, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, into the All Progressives Congress (APC), during the party’s grand reception ceremony at Anglican Science Secondary School, Iyara in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor said the defection of the business mogul to the APC would greatly strengthen the fortunes of the party and usher in a new dawn enriched by his vision for the people of the state.

He further affirmed that the movement of Prince Olusoji into the APC was a validation of his administration’s commitment to the advancement and development of Kogi State.
Governor Ododo also commended his bold and courageous decision to align with the progressive ideals and national vision of the APC, assuring him of unwavering support and collaboration to promote good governance, economic prosperity and the overall well-being of Kogi state.
Governor Ododo, acknowledged that Prince Olusoji was not joining the party as a stranger but as a leader and an achiver who has already proven his commitment to the development of his people through his Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF). Just as he emphasised that thousands of widows and the less privileged have been given hope, while various communities have also benefited from his intervention running into hundred of millions naira.
The Governor said it was a thing of joy that his administration’s modest achievements in the educational, agricultural, health and infrastructural sectors as well as the empowerment of citizens has served as inspiration for him to identify with the party in the state.
“We are gathered to welcome a new member into our party and to celebrate a man whose life embeds service, integrity and exceptional commitment to humanity.
“The coming of Prince Olatunji Olusoji to the APC fold is a validation of the direction we have taken in Kogi State, a direction anchored on security, accountability, development and the dignity of our people. This shows that credible men and women are no longer standing aside, they are stepping forward to join the movement of progressive.
“We must also express profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose courageous reforms continue to reshape our nation. Because of Mr. President’s policies, more resources are reaching the states, allowing us to strengthen rural electrification, improve healthcare, expand our educational system and deliver tangible development across the state.
“These reforms are also restoring confidence and attracting high profile Nigerians like Prince Olatunji Olusoji into the APC fold”.
“Our message is simple, politics is no longer about division, it is about development. It is not longer about who wins positions but about who leads the people. We are building a state where every son and daughter from Ayere to Ankpa, from Lokoja to Egbe, from Okene to Kotokarfi has a place and a voice”. Governor Ododo stated.
The Governor used the occasion to equally appreciate the people of Ijumu Local Government for their unity, support and maturity . While pointing out that as a government, his administration was committed to partnering with men and women of capacity like Prince Olatunji Olusoji to make Kogi State a model of an inclusive growth.
He also expressed his administration’s commitment to consolidate peace, deepen and ensure that every community feels the renewed hope of Mr. President.
Earlier, the Kogi State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello while presenting the party’s flag to Prince Olatunji Olusoji, described him as a golden fish and bridge builder whose contributions to the development of humanity were being felt across Okunland and the state at large.
In his address, Prince Olatunji Olusoji described his decision to join the APC as one borne out of a strong desire to support the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Odoodo in his quest to build a better kogi State.
He described the governor as the most humble and hardworking governor in Nigeria.
Prince Olatinji expressed his resolve to support Governor Ododo in moving the state forward assuring that he would do everything within his means to ensure that the governor succeeds.
He used the occasion to assure the governor of the support of Okun people ; just as he emphasised that there was no vacancy in Lugard House as the nation gears up for the 2027 elections.
Highlights of the occasion was the distribution of 15 motorcycles to the 15 APC Ward Chairmen in Ijumu LGA in addition to the empowerment of the people under the Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF).
