Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has presented a N820.49b (N820, 490, 443) Appropriation Bill for the 2026 fiscal year, to Kogi State House of Assembly, for consideration and approval.

Ododo while presenting the Appropriation Bill tagged, “2026 Budget Of Shared Prosperity: Driving Sustainable Growth For All”, at the Assembly Complex in Lokoja, said it was among others, aimed at enhancing revenue mobilisation; enforcing expenditure discipline as well as aggressively repay Federal Government debts.

Other priority areas include; strengthening the investment climate; encouraging collaborative involvement models; blocking revenue leakages; and prioritising ongoing projects while introducing new initiatives aligned with the 32- Year Development Plan of government.

The Governor emphasised that these objectives would support economic growth, reduce financial pressure, and create a more competitive environment..

According to him, the 2026 total Draft Budget package represents an increase of N215,961, 592, 725(37.7) percent compared to 2025 revised Budget.

Governor Ododo disclosed that the state 2026 economic outlook focuses on improving household welfare, expanding production capacity, strengthening enterprises growth.
