Gov AbdulRazaq hails new Council Chairmen, Councillors on election victory

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected 16 local government chairmen and 193 councillors across the state following their victories in Saturday’s election.

In a statement released by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the State capital on Sunday, AbdulRazaq, applauded the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for their success at the polls.

He attributed the party’s victory to the achievements of his administration, the support of party members, and the strong bond the APC has built with the people of Kwara State.

“The outcome of the elections, reflects the progress we have made as a government and the trust the people of Kwara have in us. I congratulate all our chairmen and councillors on this well-deserved victory,” the Governor said.

Governor AbdulRazaq also praised the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC), and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and orderly election.

He noted that insights from the process would contribute to improving future elections both in Kwara and across Nigeria, particularly as officials from other states observed the exercise.

The Governor thanked the people of Kwara for turning out in large numbers to participate in the election, commending their support for the APC and their conduct during the polls.

He also appreciated other political parties for their participation and sportsmanship throughout the election process.
