A delegation representing the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, during the week, paid a condolence visit to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, following the death of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani.
The team was led by Hajia Laila Barau, wife of the Deputy Senate President, included First Ladies of several states, wives of federal ministers, and other senior government officials.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Tinubu, Hajia Laila Barau, conveyed the First Lady’s deepest sympathies to Governor Ododo, entire family, and the people of the State, acknowledging the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani’s lasting impact.
In her message, Hajia Barau said the delegation was sent to share in the grief and pray for the governor and his family, while also celebrating the life of the late patriarch.
She described him as a man who lived a worthy and fulfilled life, leaving behind a legacy of service and goodwill that would be remembered for years to come.
Responding on behalf of the Ododo family, the Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hajia Nana, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady and her representatives.
She noted that their visit and words of comfort brought solace and strength to the family during a time of deep personal loss.
Among those in attendance were the wives of the Governors of Yobe and Ebonyi States, as well as the wives of ministers of Works, Agriculture and Food Security, Defence, and Budget and National Planning. Senior officials of the Kogi State Government were also present during the visit.
Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, father of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, passed away on Monday. He has been buried in line with Islamic rites.
