From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

As Muslims in Kwara State prepare to mark Eid-el-Fitr, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has mobilized 2,800 personnel to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration across the state.

The Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Umar Mohammed, revealed that security personnel have been strategically deployed in all 16 local government areas, with particular focus on crime-prone locations.

“Our officers are stationed at black spots, flashpoints, and other vulnerable areas to prevent criminal activities and maintain public order,” he stated.

He further disclosed that tactical teams and intelligence operatives have been placed on high alert for surveillance and quick response, while Area Commanders and Divisional Officers will intensify patrols throughout the festivities.

“We are committed to ensuring a hitch-free celebration,” he assured.
