Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Corporate Affairs, Hon. Tiamiyu Jimoh Fancy, has rolled out a major empowerment scheme for residents of Lokoja, under the “Clock It! Tinubu/Ododo Empowerment Programme.”

The event, held recently in Lokoja, drew party leaders, traditional rulers, women and youth groups, and community stakeholders. It featured the distribution of cash grants and working tools aimed at boosting livelihoods at the grassroots.
In his welcome address, Hon. Fancy, credited the APC-led government for the opportunity to give back. “Without the Chief Servant, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, I would not have been able to give back to our people at this level,” he said. He pledged to work for the governor’s re-election in 2027.

Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engineer Yahaya Farouk, formally unveiled the programme. He praised the administration for creating space for appointees to run people-oriented initiatives, calling the scheme proof of inclusive governance.
Delivering opening remarks, Hon. Abubakar Anda, commended Fancy for the initiative and thanked dignitaries and beneficiaries in attendance. He described the programme as a practical step toward poverty reduction and economic empowerment.

Goodwill messages also came from Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam, former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, who called it “a work well done,” and Dr. Williams Oluwatoyin, Rector of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute of Vocational and Advanced Technology.
Dr. Oluwatoyin said the initiative should be a collective effort: “It is inspiring to see what Hon. Fancy is doing for our people. This should be a collective work to give our people the best tools to navigate their lives.”

Items distributed include: ₦100,000 cash grant to 19 beneficiaries, ₦200,000 cash grant to 6 beneficiaries and ₦500,000 cash grant to 6 beneficiaries. Others are: 10 grinding machines, 5 sewing machines and two motorcycles.
Beneficiaries thanked Governor Ododo and Hon. Fancy for what they called a timely intervention. Many pledged support for the governor’s 2027 re-election bid, chanting, “We Clock It for Tinubu/Ododo in 2027!”

The programme reinforced the state government’s stated commitment to direct empowerment and grassroots development.
