– urge them to preach without season

From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Spiritual Father and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, His Grace Prophet Emmanuel Alogbo, has called on pastors to deepen their relationship with God and consistently preach the gospel, regardless of the season.

He made this statement during the opening of the 17th Pastor’s Convention at the church’s Galilee headquarters, located on the Ogbomoso-Ilorin expressway.

In his keynote address, themed “Good Tidings,” Prophet Alogbo, encouraged ministers to remain steadfast in their duties and emphasised the importance of listening to God’s voice, studying His word, and making a significant impact in both the church and the world.

“As a shepherd, you have a great responsibility to care for the sheep, looking for the stray ones and bringing them back to the fold after hearing the good news of Jesus Christ,” he stated.

He further urged newly ordained pastors to be prepared to preach the word at all times, in line with 2 Timothy 4:2-3, saying: “Preach the word in season and out of season, correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.”

Prophet Alogbo also prayed for wisdom, patience, and love for all pastors, noting that while the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few.

In his remarks, Pastor Folagbade Onafuye, the Conference Supervising Pastor and Chairman of the Pastors Advisory Committee, urged pastors not to relent in spreading the gospel to unbelievers across the globe.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Kwara State Christian Association of Nigeria and Bishop of Kwara Anglican Diocese, Bishop Sunday Adewole, has urged parents and guardians to instill strong moral values in their children as the new academic calendar begins.

Speaking at the Sisters and Brothers Guild conference at All Souls Anglican Church, Ilorin, he advised parents to spend time praying and mentoring their children, warning students to avoid bad company and resist influences that lead to harmful practices such as ritual killings and money rituals.

Bishop Adewole, referencing Proverbs 1:10, reminded the youths in attendance to be cautious about the friends they keep, as “bad company ruins good morals.”
