From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Stephen Awoyale, has formally declared his intention to contest the Isin Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly, calling for unity and grassroots support to drive development across the area.

Awoyale made his ambition known on Wednesday during an APC ward meeting in Ijara-Isin, Isin Local Government Area, where he told party members that collective effort would be key to achieving electoral victory and meaningful progress.

“No ambition can be realised without the support of the people. I am here to seek your backing and partnership as we work together for the progress of our constituency,” he said.

The aspirant, who described himself as a committed party loyalist, noted that he had consistently contributed to community development initiatives, expressing confidence in his ability to secure the APC ticket and emerge victorious at the polls.

He also aligned his ambition with the development strides of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, pledging to complement ongoing efforts at the grassroot if elected.

“I will support and complement the good work of the present administration by ensuring that our constituency benefits more from government programmes,” Awoyale stated.

Highlighting the needs of the constituency, he stressed that Ijara-Isin and the wider Isin Local Government, required accelerated development, adding that the area possesses untapped potential for growth.

Awoyale particularly advocated the establishment of higher institutions in the locality, noting that such projects would boost socio-economic activities and create opportunities for residents.

Speaking at the meeting, APC Assistant Secretary in the local government, John Adewoye, urged party faithful to remain united and work towards producing a credible candidate from Ijara-Isin.

Similarly, the councillor representing Ijara-Isin Ward, Sunday Oladimeji, commended Awoyale’s contributions to the community, citing his empowerment initiatives and support for residents.

Another party member, Bolujoko Ifeoluwa, said the community was determined to produce the next assembly candidate, stressing that the move would further drive development in Isin Local Government Area.
