A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and legal practitioner, Barrister Debo Aderibigbe, has congratulated Christians and Muslims on the simultaneous commencement of the Lent and Ramadan seasons, urging them to seize the rare moment for national prayers and unity.
In a statement made available to journalists, Aderibigbe described the concurrent observance of the two sacred periods as a divine signal for Nigerians to come together in faith and patriotism for the country’s progress.
“It is not a coincidence that Christians and Muslims are observing Lent and Ramadan at the same time. It is a reminder that we serve the same Almighty God and must work together for peaceful coexistence and national development,” he said.
The APC stalwart called on adherents of both religions to use the fasting and prayer season for spiritual renewal, repentance and deeper reflection. According to him, the period offers an opportunity for Nigerians to rededicate themselves to values of love, compassion, forgiveness and charity, particularly towards the less privileged.

He stressed the need for fervent prayers for Nigeria and its federating units, especially at a time when the nation is grappling with security challenges, including banditry. He urged citizens to also pray for the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Aderibigbe extended special felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his deputy, Kayode Alabi, as well as Christians and the Muslim Ummah across the country.
Speaking on behalf of Barrister Adebayo Reps Project and the Kwara Advancement Forum, he appealed to Nigerians to support governments at all levels in order to entrench good governance and accelerate national transformation.
He charged the faithful to allow the teachings of their religions guide their conduct during and after the sacred season, noting that unity and mutual respect remain essential for sustainable peace.
“As we fast and pray, let us also act in harmony and togetherness. In unity we stand, and through collective prayers and righteous living, Nigeria will overcome her challenges,” he added.
Aderibigbe further prayed that adherents would not miss the spiritual rewards of the season and encouraged all citizens to participate actively in the spiritual rejuvenation for the good of the nation.
