ADHA approves N4.5bn verement payment to Adamawa students scholarships in Turkey

Adamawa State House of Assembly, has approved an external virement of the sum of N4.5billion for the payment of scholarship in respect of 100 students studying at various universities in Turkey.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, read during the plenary following the consideration of the letter forwarded to the state Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Governor in the letter, appealed to the Assembly to consider and approve the external virement to facilitate the payment of overseas scholarship and administrative charges in respect of the students.

The Speaker, deemed it fit to informed the assembly that the State Executive Council at its 15th (2025) meeting held on Monday 8th September, 2025 considered and approved the virement.

Moving the motion for considering the letter, the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Mamuno, of Demsa Constituency, urged the Assembly to approve the virement for the benefit of the students studying overseas.

The Speaker, Bathiya Wesley, who presided the sitting, directed the clerk to communicate the resolution of the Assembly to the executive arm for necessary action.
