It was indeed an evening of fun and excitement as family, friends, and associates of the Dean, School of General and Communication Studies, Mrs Lola Bala Gbogbo, gathered at her Lokoja residence to celebrate with her as she added another year.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth and love as wellwishers from all walks of life gathered to celebrate an amiable personality and mentor to many.
They were joined by staff and management of Kogi State Polytechnic, members of Christ Embassy, and the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).
The children, daughter in-laws , grand children and other family members took time out to celebrate with her.
Dignitaries and well-wishers took turns sharing testimonies of her kindness, leadership, and impact on humanity.
“She is a remarkable woman, a leader, and a selfless giver who dedicates herself to God and humanity,” they said.
“Her smile is contagious!, her life inspires love and you cannot but love her. May God bless your new year with wealth and divine health.”
Notable attendees included the Managing Director of The Graphic, the state newspaper, and the newly elected Chairman of ANA, Mr Jimoh Itopa who described Mrs Gbogbo as a pillar.
He recounted how she single-handedly revitalised ANA’s Kogi Chapter and encouraged her to continue touching lives positively.
The celebrant, Mrs Lola Gbogbo, thanked everyone and pledged to remain focused, continuing to do what she loves.
Regarding her retirement, she expressed enthusiasm, saying, “I can only do more even after my service year.”
The celebration included dinner, wine, and cake cutting.
