Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has described the appointment of Senator Ibrahim Yahya Oloriegbe as the chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), as a well-deserved recognition of his expertise and contributions to the health sector.
In a statement issued in Ilorin by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for entrusting another Kwara indigene with a key national role.
“This appointment is a testament to Senator Oloriegbe’s commitment to quality healthcare and his track record as a medical professional. As a former chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, he has demonstrated a deep passion for policies that strengthen our health system,” AbdulRazaq stated.
The Governor expressed confidence that Oloriegbe will use his vast experience and network to reposition the NHIA for greater impact, ensuring more Nigerians benefit from affordable healthcare services.
He also called on stakeholders in the health sector to support the new NHIA chairman in delivering on his mandate.
“I pray for God’s guidance in this important role, and I urge all industry players to work with him for the collective good of our people,” he added.
