Kogi Govt boosts security operations with 16 vehicles

Kogi State Security Trust Fund (KSSTF), has taken a significant step towards enhancing security in the state by presenting 16 refurbished security operational vehicles to various security agencies.

The ceremony, which was attended by representatives from the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, and other security agencies, highlights the state government’s commitment to improving security infrastructure.

Chairman of the KSSTF, AVM Omeiza Umar (rtd), commended Governor Usman Ododo for his positive contributions towards security in the state.

He emphasised that security is the bedrock of every society and should be taken seriously to safeguard lives and properties.

AVM Umar noted that the refurbishment of the vehicles was not just a mere exercise but a step towards helping security agencies carry out their responsibilities more effectively.

The KSSTF chairman then advised the beneficiaries to take proper care of the vehicles and put them to optimal use. Even as he emphasised the importance of maintenance in ensuring the vehicles last longer.

In their separate remarks, the beneficiaries of the vehicles expressed gratitude to KSSTF and the state government for their efforts in enhancing security.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Baba Alhaji, representing the Kogi State Police Commissioner, appreciated the trust fund for its efforts in refurbishing the vehicles and making them more operational.

On his part,the Deputy Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kogi Command, Idomin Felix, promised to intensify efforts to keep Kogi safe.

Contributing, the Chairman of House Committee on Security, Kogi State House of Assembly, Major Enefola commended the state government for its efforts to rid the state of crimes and charged the beneficiaries to imbibe a maintenance culture.

Also, the Controller General of Kogi State Vigilante, Abdul Rahman Mariam Adnoi, expressed gratitude to AVM Omeiza for refurbishing four vehicles and repairing a 15 KVA generator for his command.

The beneficiaries of the refurbished vehicles include the Nigeria Correctional Center, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other security agencies.

The presentation of the refurbished vehicles is a testament to the state government’s commitment to enhancing security and the collaboration between security agencies and the KSSTF.

The event demonstrates the efforts being made to ensure the safety of lives and properties in Kogi State.
