Gov Ododo spproves N20,000 stipend for 1,166 Corp members in Kogi

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, announced on Tuesday that 1,166 corps members serving in the state will each receive twenty thousand Naira.

He made this announcement at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch “A” Stream One NYSC orientation course in Asaya, Kabba.

The Governor explained that this action aimed to support the corps members’ transportation to their primary assignment locations.

The Governor, through his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, conveyed the present administration’s unwavering commitment to the growth and development of youths, both within the state and beyond, at the ceremony.

Governor Ododo affirmed that his administration will recognise and reward diligent and honest corp members for their service in the state.

He further stated that his government remains committed to supporting serving corp members throughout their time and cautioned them against any actions that could jeopardize their future, both during and after their service year in the state.

Governor Ododo reassured them of their safety in Kogi State, emphasising his administration’s dedication to protecting the lives and property of all residents.

Highlighting Kogi’s reputation for hospitality, the Governor encouraged them to embrace their freedom during their service year.

The Governor urged them to collaborate with colleagues at their assigned locations to contribute to Kogi State’s growth and development.

He thanked the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, for his strong leadership in the state’s youth and sports sector and encouraged him to continue his good work.

Governor Ododo also expressed his gratitude to the State Coordinator of the NYSC, the Army officials, and other security agencies for their significant contributions to the success of the NYSC scheme in the state. He reaffirmed his dedication to the scheme’s continued growth and progress within the state.

Speaking as both the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports and the Chairman of the NYSC Kogi State Governing Board, Hon. Monday Anyebe, stated that the Kogi State government expects corp members to demonstrate the highest levels of discipline, dedication, and commitment throughout their national service in the state and beyond.

He also urged all employers to treat corps members like their own children and ensure their well-being, enabling them to contribute effectively to Kogi State’s progress.

Furthermore, the Commissioner impressed upon the corp members, the necessity of engaging with their Community Development Service with diligence, with the aim of achieving tangible improvements in their respective host communities.

He also acknowledged Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commendable efforts in integrating corp members into the state’s programs, expressing his appreciation for this inclusive approach.

Kogi State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, lauded the Kogi State government’s significant contributions to the growth and progress of NYSC in the state, expressing the office’s satisfaction with Governor Ododo’s administration.

Speaking with journalists, some corps members expressed their gratitude to the Kogi State Governor for his fatherly role in making them feel a sense of belonging within his government.
