Ramadan: Lokoja FOMWAN distributes food to the needy

As Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts across the world to mark this year’s Ramadan, Lokoja Local Government chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), has distributed food items to the needy in the community.

In a similar manner, the Amira of FOMWAN Lokoja, Hajiya Hamamatu Haruna, has urged Muslim communities to support the less fortunate during the holy month.

The Amira made the call during the disteibution of food items to the less priviledge in Lokoja

She said Zakat was one of the pillars of Islam and urged every believer to always give Zakat to enable them enjoy Allah’s favour.

On his part, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Kogi State, Barr.Muzi Abdullahi, SAN, commended FOMWAN for the initiative.

Guest Lecturer, Barr. Muhammed Ibrahim, emphasised the importance of seeking knowledge while stressing the need for Muslims to observe the five daily prayers and believe only in Allah.

Barr. Tijani also advocated for the establishment of a Ministry of Zakat in the state for proper distribution of same in the State.

He then advised Muslims to believe and trust in Allah in all their life endeavors.
