INEC releases 2026 notice of FCT Council Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has notified the general public of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Council Poll which will take place on the 21st February, 2026.

According to a statement released by the Commission Wednesday, said the election would be conducted in the six (6) Area Council that comprised the Federal Capital Territory.

The statement added that only the voters who are eligible shall vote at the polling units where they are registered.

According to the Commission, only persons whose name appeared in the register of the voters and have valid permanent voters cards would be allowed to vote on the Saturday February, 21, 2026.

In addition to this, the statement said that, the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), shall be used on that day as no PVC, no voting; it warned.
