Kogi Grand Khadi Inaugurates ICT committee

As part of efforts tailored towards ensuring adequate adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) application in the judiciary sector, Kogi State Sharia Court of Appeal has inaugurated it’s ICT Committee.

Members of the Committee include; Hon Justice M Ohu (Chairman), Hon Justice S.R Aliyu( member),Comrade Sherif Anaye,( member), Yahaya Olurunfemi (member),Mrs Lateefat Mudashiru (member) while Nezifi Ekpe is to serve as secretary.

The Grand Khadi of Kogi State Sharia Court of Appeal,Hon.Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa, performed the inauguration as well as the unveiling of the maiden Sharia Court of Appeal Practice Directions at a ceremony in Lokoja.

Giving a further insight into their activities,Hon.Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa, explained that the ICT Committee is tasked with the responsibility of designing and implementing strategies for the Court’s realisation of ICT compliance, acquisition and management, culminating to the digitalisation of its operations, in alignment with the National Judicial Council’s ICT Policy.

In a similar manner, he said the Practice Directions is meant to save time and costs for stakeholders, and to also enhance the Court’s smooth and expeditious adjudicatory and quasi-adjudicatory service deliveries to the public.

In addition to the joint-events, the Court according to the Grand Khadi, was also working on its Law Report (Kogi State Sharia Court of Appeal Law Report, with the Committee on it making strenuous and dogged progress.

In that regard, he used the forum to appreciate the Nigerian Bar Association, Lokoja Branch for always identifying with the Court.

Just as he equally appreciated the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo led administration for its support and priority attention to the While appealing for more funding to enable it meet its set mandate. This is in addition to an appeal for support to enable the court move to its permanent site opposite the High Court Headquarters, Lokoja.

While appreciating other Hon. Kadis, for their support to him, especially the senior group,Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa commended the Court’s Management team, and staff generally for their diligence, dedication and discipline.
