Offa Doctors forum pledges improved healthcare, scholarships for indigent students

The Offa Doctors Forum, has outlined plans to enhance healthcare delivery and support for members as part of its 2025 agenda, focusing on community development and empowerment.

Speaking at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held recently, the President of the Forum, Dr. Rasheed Odunola, unveiled several initiatives aimed at driving positive change in Offa and its environs.

“Our achievements over the past year have been remarkable, thanks to collaboration and dedication. We are committed to positioning the Forum as a catalyst for impactful transformation in Offa and beyond,” Dr. Odunola stated in a communiqué issued after the meeting.

As part of its plans, the Forum announced the renovation of a health center in Offa to enhance healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality services. Dr. Odunola noted.

“This project will ensure better healthcare delivery for our community and support the well-being of our people.”

The Forum also introduced a scholarship program for indigent 200-level medical students from Offa, with a financial grant of ₦100,000 for each deserving beneficiary.

“This initiative reflects our dedication to education and the empowerment of future healthcare professionals,” Dr. Odunola added.

To further strengthen its impact, the Forum plans to collaborate with the Offa Descendants Union of North America (ODUNA), on various programs in 2025.

Additionally, it aims to increase its membership database by 75 percent and improve compliance with dues payments to fund more community-oriented projects.

“Our focus is to build a stronger network of professionals dedicated to providing improved healthcare and uplifting the lives of Offa residents,” Dr. Odunola emphasised.

The Forum also reaffirmed its commitment to sustain its collaborative efforts and community outreach programs to enhance the lives of people in Offa and beyond.

The AGM concluded with a renewed pledge from the Forum to remain a driving force for healthcare development and professional empowerment in the coming year.
