Gov Ododo orders immediate arrest of Odo-Ape violence perpetrators

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed security agencies to immediately apprehend those responsible for the recent violence in Odo Ape community, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of the state.

This swift action aims to restore peace and order in the affected community, ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.

This directive, made public through a statement issued by Commissioner for Information and Communications Kingsley Fanwo, underscores the Governor’s commitment to maintaining law and order in Kogi State.

“The government is putting all hands on deck to ensure the attackers do not escape justice,” the statement read.

Governor Ododo appealed to residents to remain calm and composed in the face of recent challenges, cautioning against reprisals that could exacerbate the situation and lead to further losses.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families affected, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being and security of all residents.

“We sympathise with the communities affected by this unfortunate incident. Rest assured, the Ododo administration is fully committed to your security and will stop at nothing to guarantee your safety,” the statement added.

The Kogi State government has made a public appeal, urging citizens to come forward with any credible information that could aid security agencies in identifying and apprehending those responsible for the recent violence.

“Every life in Kogi State is important, and we need the cooperation of our people to end criminal activities,” the statement emphasised.

To swiftly restore peace and stability, security personnel have been dispatched to Odo Ape and other volatile areas, prioritising the safeguarding of lives and properties.

The state government reassured residents that the situation will be brought under control and normalcy will be restored promptly, within a matter of hours.

Governor Ododo made a solemn promise to honor the memory of those who tragically lost their lives in the attack, ensuring they are not forgotten.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the state’s capacity to tackle criminal activity head-on, determined to create a safer and more secure environment for all residents.

Governor Ododo reaffirmed his commitment to justice, stating that the victims of the recent violence in Odo-Ape community will not be forgotten. He emphasised that their memories will fuel the state’s unwavering determination to combat those who threaten peace and security in Kogi State.
