Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday, assented to the N582,404,119.489 budget passed by the legislature for the year 2025 into law with a promise to ensure its full implementation for the people’s benefit.

Tagged Budget of ‘Inclusive Development’, Governor Ododo had explained that it was proposed to accelerate development in all sectors of the state’s economy.

According to him, the budget, a roadmap designed to transform the state into a thriving inclusive and sustainable economy, is a long term plan anchored on three pillars which are fostering prosperity, building resilience and providing direction.

He added that the budget signalled his administration’s focus on improving and deepening the infrastructure stock required to attract investments to the State.

The governor further explained that the budget would address key sectors of the state economy, such as Education, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Agriculture, and also create gainful employment opportunities for the teeming youth in the state.

According to him, the assent has given the state government the necessary legal frame to commence the execution of viable capital projects for the upliftment of the living condition of the people.

The 2025 budget estimates, totaling N582,404,119.489, represent a 43.34% increase from the revised 2024 budget of N406,321,130,013.

Governor Ododo commended members of the State Assembly for their commitment to the development of the state as exemplified in their contributions through personal sacrifice and time.

He also lauded the lawmakers for the quick passage of the appropriation bill into law, noting that this was a fallout of the cordial and harmonious relationship amongst the three tiers of government.

Recall that Governor Ododo had on December 3, presented an appropriation bill of over N582 billion for the 2025 fiscal year.
