The Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Mr Elijah Evinemi has promised to accord priority to training and upgrading of knowledge of workers in 2025 for efficient performance.

The HOS said capacity building of civil servants would enhance workers performances, noting that the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has graciously approved that which will be captured in the 2025 budget.

“In 2025 budget our major area of focus will be capacity building to enhance workers performances and His Excellency has graciously approved that which will be captured in the 2025 budget.

“The capacity building will be from top to the bottom that is from the Permanent Secretaries to the lowest cadre in the service to improve their performance because you can not expect someone to give what he or she does not have.

“Therefore capacity building is key so that the civil service can realize the objective of the state government”

Speaking on other areas of concern , the Head of Service mentioned that office accommodation which needed to be renovated to give workers conducive working environment would also be captured in the budget.

“The major challenges we have which the committee has noted down are operation of staff development centre for the training of staff, we will also write to the committee so that it can be captured in the 2025 budget.

“The other area of concern is the office accommodation, provision of official vehicles , recruitment of new staff which will be captured in the 2025 budget” he stated.
