The Vice Chancellor, Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Prof. Abdulrahman Salawu says the 2025 budget proposal if approved, will enable the institution witness a seamless session.

Prof. Salawu stated this in Lokoja shortly after presenting the 2025 Budget for the Institution before the lawmakers in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The Vice Chancellor who described the 2025 Budget as a budget of hope, said the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has given the Institution the go ahead to recruit and ensure the school is running in view of the commencement of medical courses.

According to him, the Institution is committed to give the best to their students in terms of quality education and moral upbringing to favourably compete with their contemporaries elsewhere in the world.

On the challenges bedeviling the Institution, Prof. Salawu noted that the challenges are already summontable as Gov. Ododo is on top of the situation.

“In the next five years if you click on the world ranking you should be seing Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara as one of the best one thousand in the world; So we are not there yet but we will be there in the next five years because of our robust curriculum.”

The Vice Chancellor expressed confidence that the existing synergy and understanding between the Institution and the lawmakers will compel the house to give accelerated approval to the proposed budget by the University.

Prof. Salawu appreciated the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Chairman and members House Committee on Education for their commitment and special interest towards the development of Educational sectors in the State.

“Kindly permit me once again to commend His Excellency for his unwavering commitment and uncommon Initiative towards infrastructural development especially in educational sector which CUSTECH is a direct beneficiary within the few months of his assumption of office, from 27th January 2024 till date.

Earlier, the Chairman, House Committee On Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Idrees Aliyu Maikudi noted that the exercise is not about fault-finding or placing blame but to ensure that the allocations to the Ministry, Agencies and Department as well as schools are sufficient to meet their respective mandates and drive meaningful development.
