NGF mourns Chief of Army Staff, commiserate with President Tunubu, Military

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian military, and citizens in mourning the loss of a devoted patriot.

In a message of condolence, NGF Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, extended sympathies to President Tinubu, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and the family of the late Army Chief.

“We send our profound condolences to Mr. President, the Nigerian military establishment, and the family on the sad loss of this great patriot,” he stated.

Governor Abdulrazaq praised Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s commitment to Nigeria’s security, calling his service a source of pride for the nation.

“Our hearts are especially with the family and the Nigerian Army at this difficult moment. We are comforted by the unforgettable memories of his unblemished services to our country. Even in death, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja stands honoured for his bravery and dedication to a greater, united Nigeria,” he added.

The NGF Chairman, prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family and peaceful repose for Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s soul.

“We ask Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings, admit him to al-jannah Firdaus, and give his family the strength to get through this tough phase of life.”

Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s passing marks a significant loss for Nigeria’s armed forces, concluding a distinguished career dedicated to the nation’s security and unity.
