KOSIEC takes delivery of sensitive materials for council polls

In preparation for Saturday’s Council polls, Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), has taken delivery of sensitive materials for onward distribution to Local Government Areas.

Receiving the sensitive materials at the KOSIEC headquarters in Lokoja on Thursday evening, the chairman of the Commission, Nda Eri, who briefed Journalists said the sensitive materials which were received from the company which produced them include Form 8T, 8E1, 8B, A, A1, C, C1, ballot papers for Councillorship and Chairmanship elections among others.

Eri maintained that with the arrival of the sensitive materials the commission is set to conduct the Local Government elections by Saturday.

The commission chairman also said all materials needed for the conduct of the election will be distributed by Friday morning adding that the essence is to ensure that the materials get to the various Local Government Areas on time to pave way for the smooth conduct of the election on Saturday.

Eri thanked the election observers, ad-hoc staff, security agencies, political parties and various stakeholders for their cooperation in all the processes leading to the election.
