The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, has expressed his optimism that, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will assent to the North/West Development Commission (NWDC) Bill as passed by the Senate to address the challenges faced by the North West geopolitical zone.

According to the bill sponsored by Senator Barau; he said that, all is set for the transmission of the bill to the Presidency for assent, as both Chambers of the National Assembly have passed the bill.

In a statement by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau said that the passage of the bill by the parliament aligns with the commitment of President Tinubu to transform the country and return it to the path of progress and prosperity.

The establishment of the North West Development Commission (NWDC) is aimed at addressing the challenges facing the seven states in the geopolitical zone (Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto, and Zamfara) and the country as a whole.
