The Kogi State Medical Students Association (KOMSA) has expressed profound gratitude to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for approving the payment of an enhanced bursary allowance of N75,000 to medical students from the state.

The association described the gesture as a significant demonstration of the administration’s commitment to supporting students pursuing medical education and easing some of the financial pressures associated with their training.

It said the intervention would provide meaningful assistance to beneficiaries across various medical schools.

According to KOMSA, medical education comes with considerable financial demands, including tuition-related expenses, accommodation, learning materials, transportation and other academic requirements.

The increased bursary, it noted, would therefore provide timely relief to students and their families.

The association commended Governor Ododo for recognising the importance of investing in medical students, describing them as an important part of the state’s future healthcare workforce.

The association said the N75,000 bursary would also serve as encouragement to students facing the challenges of medical training.

KOMSA assured the state government of its continued cooperation and called on medical students to reciprocate the gesture through dedication to their education, good conduct and commitment to serving their communities after graduation.
