Miss Rhoda Adinoyi Oyiza, the 2025 Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi best graduating student has settled in University of Glasgow, Scotland, United kingdom (UK) for her masters degree on Erasmus Mundus’s Scholarship.
Miss Oyiza, who disclosed the cheering news of her scholarship to The Graphic newspaper on Thursday, said she has settled down to study and do Kogi State and Nigeria proud as a patriotic citizen.
She said the scholarship came to her as a dream – difficult to believe in it, more so that it came in double fold.
Indeed, cheers to the girl who dared to dream, to alter the loop, to emerge as valedictorian, to stand in places that were wildest dreams to her Okene ancestors.

She said that she has been selected to study International Masters in Global Markets, Local Creativities Erasmus Mundus with a full Erasmus Mundus scholarship at three universities namely: University of Glasgow, Scotland UK; University of Barcelona, Spain; and University of Göttingen, Germany for the next 2 years.
“I also received an unconditional offer from SOAS University of London and received the highly competitive Allan and Nesta Ferguson scholarship.
“In fact, choosing one out of the two was a tough decision. But I am grateful to God, my parents, my mentor Abah Danladi, and some other individuals contributed to my preparation, application, and arrival in Glasgow, ” she said.
She expressed her gratitude to the European Union for the pathway on the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees, and to the delegation of the European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS.
The Scholar also said she was very grateful to Prof. Danladi Abah, Dr. Joel Abah, PhD , and Dr. Victor Asaju for their thoughtfully written recommendation letters.
She added: “My gratitude also goes to Chinenye Okoye-uzu, Dr Philip Akoje , Prof Aisha Bawa, Prof Chima Korieh , Dr Oluwabunmi Akindipe-Bernard , Costanza Paolillo, and Mr Philips for your guidance, encouragement and support to me in this journey. ”
However, the latest Erasmus Mundus 2026 Scholar, who has travelled from the hills of Okene to the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, expressed the hope that the scholarship would be the first of many her bonny adventures .
The Scholar was part of the PAAU 2024–2025 academic session graduating students and did not only emerge as the best graduating student in her department, History and International Relations, but became the valedictorian, graduating as the overall best student of the university.
According to her, her CGPA of 4.93 meant a great deal to her, having reminded her that she put in a lot of work, having remained consistent and focused throughout her years of study in PAAU.
“Above all, it reassures me that my efforts were not in vain and that I made the most of my academic journey there. In this new academic journey in Glasgow, I hope to do better by God’s grace, ” she said
