The battle of who gets All Progressive Congress (APC), Senatorial slot in Kogi East, has been put to rest as Chief Ameh Erico Joseph, was finally announced as the authentic candidate in the Kogi East Senatorial District for the forthcoming 2027 general election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced this on its website Saturday, September 12, 2026; when it finally published the name of contestants in the upcoming January 2026 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
This now, put to rest who should stand for elective position in January 2026 elections in the Country. And in Kogi East especially, the battle between the incumbent senator Isah Jibrin popularly known as Echocho and incoming Senator if elected, Chief Ameh Erico Joseph, has finally been put to rest.
As Erico Joseph represents APC for Kogi East, Alhaji Yahaha Bello, former governor stands for Kogi Central while Senator Karimi Sunday, the incumbent senator representing the Kogi West maintained his status quo as APC candidates respectively.

While, that of Kogi West are also as follows: Karimi Sunday (APC), Oluyori Folorunsho (Accord Party), Odia Fred (AA), Balogun Soji Segun (APP), Musa Ibrahim Ahmadu (ADC), Lawal Abubakar (APM), Egbanubi Adekunle Martins (LP), Asaju Sunday -Olorunmagba Ekene Linda (NRM), Fatosa Olumuyiwa Adedokun (NDC), Yusuf Ayo Tajudeen (PDP), Medupin Ephraim (PRP), Aiyenigba Rufus (SDP), and Komolafe David (YPP). Kogi West have 14 Senatorial candidates running for the Senatorial District.
